In 1850, Italian sculptor Giovanni Strazza unveiled a marble bust so technically extraordinary that visitors reportedly refused to believe the veil was carved from stone rather than actual fabric. The Veiled Lady Candle takes that same principle — the illusion of transparency in a solid material — and renders it in natural soy wax. When lit, the wax veil appears to glow from within, diffusing the flame into something softer and more atmospheric than a standard candle. Unlit, it reads as a sculptural object worthy of any shelf or mantlepiece.
This Extra Large version is the most substantial piece in the Veiled Lady series — hand-poured from 100% natural soy wax at our Orlando, Florida studio, weighing 650 g and standing 17 cm tall. Each piece is individually hand-finished; the translucent veil effect requires precise wax formulation and no two are identical.
