Return & Refund Policy – Votive Candle Co.

1. Policy Scope and Acceptance

This Return & Refund Policy applies to all purchases made through Votive Candle Co. By placing an order, you acknowledge and agree to be bound by the terms outlined in this policy.


2. Right of Return (7-Day Period)

Customers may request a return within seven (7) calendar days from the date the order is confirmed as delivered by the shipping carrier tracking system.

To be eligible for a return, all of the following conditions must be met:

  • The product must be unused, unburned, and not altered
  • The product must be in its original condition and original packaging
  • The return request must be submitted within the 7-day return period
  • Valid proof of purchase must be provided (order number or receipt)

Votive Candle Co. reserves the right to reject any return that does not meet these conditions.


3. Non-Returnable Items

The following items are not eligible for return or refund:

  • Products that have been used, burned, or modified
  • Products returned after the 7-day return period
  • Custom-made or personalized products (if applicable)
  • Products damaged due to improper use, storage, or handling by the customer

4. Return Authorization Process

All returns must be pre-approved by Votive Candle Co.

To request a return, customers must contact:

The request must include:

  • Order number
  • Reason for return

If the return request is approved, instructions for returning the product will be provided.

Returns sent without prior authorization may be refused.

Approved returns must be shipped within seven (7) calendar days from the date of return authorization. Returns shipped after this period may be refused.


5. Return Shipping Costs

Customers are responsible for all return shipping costs, unless the return is due to an error by Votive Candle Co.

Return shipping costs will only be covered by Votive Candle Co. in the following cases:

  • The item received is damaged upon delivery, or
  • The item received is incorrect (not the item ordered)

In such cases, Votive Candle Co. may provide:

  • A prepaid return shipping label, or
  • Reimbursement of reasonable return shipping costs, subject to prior approval

Votive Candle Co. is not responsible for:

  • Lost or damaged return shipments
  • Returns shipped without tracking
  • Additional shipping services (including expedited shipping or insurance) unless agreed in advance

Customers are strongly advised to use a trackable shipping method.


6. Refunds

All returned items will be inspected upon receipt to verify compliance with this policy.

If approved:

  • Refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days
  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable

To the extent permitted by applicable law, payment processing fees may be deducted from the refund amount.

Votive Candle Co. reserves sole discretion in determining eligibility for refunds.

Refunds may be denied if the returned item does not meet the conditions outlined in this policy.


7. Damaged or Incorrect Orders

If a product is received damaged or incorrect, the customer must notify Votive Candle Co. within three (3) business days from the date the order is confirmed as delivered by the shipping carrier, or as soon as reasonably possible.

The customer must provide:

  • Order number
  • Clear photographic evidence of the product
  • Photos of the packaging and shipping label

If the claim is verified, Votive Candle Co. will, at its sole discretion:

  • Replace the item, or
  • Issue a full refund, including applicable shipping costs

Claims submitted after this timeframe may be denied.


8. Handmade Product Disclaimer

All products are handcrafted using natural materials. Variations inherent to the handmade process are normal and do not constitute defects.

These may include:

  • Variations in color, texture, or finish
  • Minor surface imperfections
  • Natural wax characteristics (such as frosting)

These characteristics are not valid grounds for return or refund.


9. Shipping and Delivery Responsibility

Customers are responsible for ensuring that all shipping information provided at checkout is accurate.

Delivery confirmation is based on the shipping carrier’s tracking system.

Votive Candle Co. is not liable for:

  • Orders delivered to incorrect addresses provided by the customer
  • Lost or delayed shipments caused by third-party carriers
  • Delivery failures due to incorrect or incomplete address information

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Votive Candle Co. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of its products or from any return or refund process.


11. Abuse of Policy

Votive Candle Co. reserves the right to refuse returns, refunds, or service to customers exhibiting excessive return behavior, suspected misuse, or fraudulent activity.


12. Governing Law

This policy shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
