Bernini used eight Solomonic columns — their helical twist rising six stories high — in the baldachin he built over the altar of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. Before that, Byzantine architects twisted stone columns to suggest movement in sacred spaces. The spiral implied power and devotion. The Twisted Taper Candle is hand-poured from 100% natural soy wax at our Orlando studio. Standing 25 cm (9.8 in.) tall and weighing 125 g, it's sized for standard taper holders and available in 10 colors — Ivory to Black — each individually poured and finished. Unscented, because the form is the point.
