Byzantine painters used the portable diptych as a devotional object: two images facing each other, the closed form a protective gesture. Medieval ivory diptychs showed the Virgin and Child on one panel, the donor on the other, facing across a physical fold. The point was never just to double an image. It was to create a relationship between two things that, alone, meant less.

Each pillar is hand-poured from 100% natural soy wax at our Orlando studio, with a gradient built into the wax itself — not printed or coated.
