The Romans were obsessed with Egyptian obelisks. Augustus had two transported from Heliopolis. Caligula brought the one that still stands in St. Peter's Square, requiring a ship built specifically for the crossing. By the 4th century CE, Rome contained more obelisks than Egypt. The appeal wasn't mystical — it was the form itself. The tapered column, rising to a point, cast a shadow across the piazza that moved like a sundial. The peak caught the first light of morning. No other shape in architecture had the same relationship with the sun.
The Large Cone Pillar Candle takes that profile at table scale: 32 cm of gradually narrowing soy wax, poured in a single form, in your choice of 10 colors. Unscented, because a form this clean shouldn't compete with anything. Hand-poured from 100% natural soy wax at our Orlando studio.
