In ancient Egypt, cats were sacred. Bastet — the cat-headed goddess of home, fertility, and protection — was worshipped at Bubastis for over a thousand years. To harm a cat was punishable by death. In Norse mythology, the goddess Freya rode a chariot pulled by two great cats across the sky. The domestic cat has never entirely shed this mythological weight, which is perhaps why they continue to dominate art, internet culture, and the hearts of their households.
This sculptural Cat Candle is hand-poured from 100% natural soy wax in our Orlando studio. At 15 cm (5.9 in) tall and 600 g (21.1 oz), it's a substantial sculptural presence — the kind of object that earns a permanent spot on a shelf rather than just a seasonal rotation. Every pour is individually hand-finished.
